Becky Meritt is a trained, board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner based in Rochester, NY, who has several years of experience in working with the child and adolescent population specializing in psychiatric evaluation and medication management. Becky’s experience provides opportunity to assist clients struggling with trauma-based disorders, ADHD, bipolar disorder, psychosis, depression, and anxiety-based disorders. Becky’s focus over the last few years has been with individuals dually diagnosed with mental health and developmental disabilities, extending her experience to those with neurodevelopmental disorders.
Although mainly working with the child and adolescent population as a Nurse Practitioner, Becky is able and looking forward to working with the adult population as well.
Becky’s framework of treatment is centered on a biopsychosocial approach and treating an individual from a holistic perspective. She strives on building a therapeutic relationship with individuals and believes collaborating with families, clinical teams, and communities can better support life-long changes beyond the office setting.
Becky completed her undergraduate nursing degree at Roberts Wesleyan College and obtained her masters at the University of Rochester. During graduate school, Becky achieved a fellowship in LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disabilities), emphasizing her competence in working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Her clinical experience has included work in inpatient hospitalization, residential treatment, outpatient treatment, integrated school programs, and group homes. Becky is well versed in systems of care including OCFS, OMH and OPWDD.
