Dr. Paula Eichner is a NYS licensed clinical psychologist. She received her doctorate in clinical Psychology from the University of Indianapolis. She earned her BA in psychology from Gettysburg College. She completed her postdoctoral training here at Victor Counseling Practice.
Paula has focused her experience on working with children aged 3 to early 20’s, and their families including underserved clients. She has worked at a college counseling center, private practice, and community mental health centers. She has treated a variety of disorders including trauma, behavioral concerns, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. Paula typically lets the client lead the session and uses a variety of methods including play, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, parent management, and Humanistic techniques.
Paula greatly values the relationship with the client and views it as an important part of success. She treats all clients with empathy and respect in a warm and caring environment. She believes that taking a multicultural perspective is an integral part of assessment and treatment because each person is unique. She strives to help each client learn new skills that can be used in everyday life. She is passionate about working with children and adolescents, focusing on skills that can prepare them for adulthood.
